Srinagar, Dec 31 (KNO): President of Jammu & Kashmir Apni Party Altaf Bukhari on Sunday said there is no question of supporting former member parliament, Muzaffar Hussain Baig, who may contest Lok Sabha polls from Baramulla. To a question whether Apni Party would support Baig in Lok Sabha polls, Bukhari said he wouldn’t support anyone who is not part of his party. “Altaf Bukhari wouldn’t support anyone who is not part of his party,” Bukhari, as per news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) told reporters today. In the last Lok Sabha polls, Baig’s managed to secure only 5160 votes for PDP from Baramulla and Sangrama assembly segments. In the election, PDP secured 3323 votes in Baramulla and 1837 in Sangrama. Both the constituencies are nurtured by Baig’s. At the time of 2019 LS election, Muzaffar Baig, his wife Safeena Baig and nephew Javed Baig were with PDP. Baig had “resigned” from PDP in November 2020 over seat-sharing arrangement between allies of Peoples Alliance for Gupkar Declaration(PAGD) in the district development council polls. He had later joined Peoples Conference, but the party later distanced itself from him. In an all-party meeting held in New Delhi in June 2021, Baig had tried to stop Kashmiri leaders from raising the issue of Article 370, saying it is sub-judice—(KNO)
